What is a graphene coating?

A graphene coating is an advanced ceramic coating that includes graphene. Our Kovalent Graphene Matrix bonds to your vehicle's clear coat and cures into a hard, glass-like layer that boosts gloss, repels water and resists UV, chemicals and everyday contaminants.

How is graphene coating different from a normal ceramic coating?

Graphene is extremely thin, strong and good at dispersing heat. Blended into a ceramic base, it tends to give excellent hardness, a very slick hydrophobic surface and strong gloss retention. In practice that often means a tougher, easier to maintain finish than many traditional ceramic products.

How long does the Kovalent Graphene Matrix last?

With correct preparation, application and ongoing care, the coating can protect your paint for up to 9 years. Real-world durability depends on how the car is used, stored and maintained, and we will give you a realistic estimate for your vehicle.

Does a graphene coating stop scratches?

No coating is scratch proof. The Kovalent Graphene Matrix adds real surface hardness and helps resist light marring and swirl marks from washing, but it will not stop deep scratches, stone chips or impact damage. We will always be honest about that.

What is self-healing?

The coating has a mild self-healing quality. When it is warmed by the sun or warm water to around 100 degrees C, the top layer can relax and reduce the appearance of minor swirl marks and very light scratches. It does not repair deep scratches, chips or dents.

Does this mean I never have to wash my car?

No. The hydrophobic surface means water and dirt struggle to cling, so washing is faster, easier and needed less often. Regular gentle washing still keeps your coating performing at its best.

How long does the application take?

It depends on the size and condition of the vehicle and whether paint correction is needed first. Many jobs take a full day or more so the surface can be prepared, coated and cured properly. We will confirm timing with your quote.

Do you correct the paint first?

Where it is needed, yes. Coating seals in the condition of the paint, so we wash, decontaminate and carry out paint correction as required before applying the Kovalent Graphene Matrix, to lock in the best possible finish.

What vehicles can you coat?

Luxury, performance, daily and brand new vehicles are all suited to graphene coating. We work on automotive painted surfaces and clear coat finishes, and can also coat alloy wheels.

How should I look after a coated car?

Wash regularly with a pH-neutral car shampoo and a clean wash mitt, dry with a soft microfibre towel, and avoid harsh chemicals and automatic brush car washes. We will give you simple aftercare guidance when you collect your car.

Where are you located?

We have three studios: Brisbane (Geebung), Melbourne (Bayswater) and the Gold Coast (Arundel). Visit the location pages for local details, or contact us and we will point you to your nearest studio.

How much does a graphene coating cost?

Pricing depends on the size and condition of your vehicle and the package you choose, including any paint correction. The best way to get an accurate figure is to request a quote and tell us about your car.
